Central Bank of Sri Lanka - Exposure Draft on Corporate Governance for Registered Financial Companies

The law enforcing agency, Central Bank of Sri Lanka has released a draft document on "Corporate Governance for Registered Financial Companies".

The document primarily focuses on financial side of corporate governance. It does not directly talk about IT. Still, auditing and risk management is highlighted where IT related matters are indirectly dealt with. Even though some limited number of candidate rules and guidelines focus on performance, it could have been better if a topic like IT governance was at least mentioned. Performance of companies is a direct measure of present and future health. Given that IT has become the second most expensive investment category after people, having some guidelines about IT governance would definitely be helpful for the companies and also for the nation.
