 ISACA Members’ Day – August 2010

The Members’ Day organized by the ISACA Sri Lanka chapter, with two industry leading presenters was successfully held on 19^th August 2010 at Excel World Entertainment Park. More than 70 people participated for the event consisting of professional members, student members and distinguished invitees.

A very informative presentation on ‘How to secure your applications with OWASP’ was conducted by Mr. Santosh Satam, Business Unit Head, Technical Services, MIEL e-Security Pvt. Ltd. The Software Security Assurance (SSA) framework and components to consider in Web Security was discussed and OWASP tools to assist members in this area were also presented.

Mr. Chandana Jayasooriya, Director – IT of Aviva NDB and current Membership Director of the chapter presented on ‘Auditing and Standards – A Management Perspective’. The key point of the presentation being, that it is necessary to give due consideration to Management perspective when providing audit or security recommendations.

Fellowship and refreshments followed the two presentations to conclude the Members’ Day.
