2010 Awards for the best Information Technology Security Implementation.

ISACA Security Awards Ceremony

The 2nd ISACA Security Awards organized by the ISACA Sri Lanka Chapter was held on Sunday 03rd October 2010 at Cinnamon Lakeside with the annual INFOTEL Awards 2010 and Gala Dinner.

With the growth initiatives of IT in the country, which was also the theme of this year’s INFOTEL exhibition ‘IT’s about growth’, & to be abreast of the changes worldwide, a requirement exists for maintaining IT Governance and Security Standards if Sri Lanka is to reach the level of recognition among the major players hold internationally.

ISACA Security Awards is the only national event dedicated to recognizing the efforts taken by public, private sector as well as Tertiary sector to enhance IT Governance and Security in their organisations and in the country. This initiative of ISACA Sri Lanka chapter had been well recognized by ISACA International.

Following categories were included in this year’s evaluation;

•    •             Program and Application Security
•    •             Network Security Implementation                                                  
•    •             Training in IT Governance
•    •             Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning
•    •             IT Security Research Projects (Tertiary education sector)

Award winners were chosen according to their suitability and strength in the respective category by a four member Judging Panel.  Virtusa Pvt. Ltd., Etisalat Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd, Commercial Bank Plc, Singapore Informatics, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, Lanka Orix Information Technology Services Ltd. being some of the winners.
